Learn to glide in Oxfordshire! When we first introduced this gliding package deal, we even had our own members asking if they could try it out! Basically you get all the benefits of normal membership of the gliding club for three months without having to pay the full membership fee. Your single payment (non refundable) covers a large amount of flying - as a rough guide, around 30 winch launches or 8 aerotows, or a mixture of both (the exact number of flights also depends on the total time you spend in the air). As it generally takes between 60 - 100 winch launches to reach solo standard in a glider, you are well on your way to becoming a fully fledged glider pilot!

After you have used up your allocated flying, you can join the gliding club as a full member (the membership cost is reduced by £30) and continue to fly. If you become so keen that you use up your package deal within a short time, you can still continue to fly at club rates until your temporary membership expires. After you learn to fly the glider, as a member you can even learn how to glide cross country, take part in gliding competitions or perhaps eventually become an instructor yourself - gliding is highly addictive and the sky's the limit!
