Airfield Purchase Fund
Bicester Gliding Club needs to raise funds in order to be able to purchase the airfield, should the opportunity arise. Members and Supporters are urged to contribute through:
- Donations
- By offering Loans
- Attracting funds from Trusts and Charities
- Loans
The Club has set itself a funding target of £750,000 from all sources to maximise the chance of securing a future for gliding at Bicester for the whole gliding community.

Life Memberships
Lifetime Membership Category: £4,000.00 one-off payment.
At present we are seeking pledges of Lifetime Memberships. They will be available once we know exactly if and when funds will be required. We anticipate requiring the funds January 2013.
- The Lifetime Membership is a single payment, and entitles the member Full Flying Status within the club for their lifetime, or until Windrushers Gliding Club is dissolved. It also allows the member voting rights at General Meetings, and includes any BGA Capitation Fees due to BGA at any time in the future.
- Lifetime Membership does not include Caravan or Trailer parking fees, which can be purchased on an Annual basis as usual.
- Pledges of Annual Membership will be received until December 2012. At that point it will no longer be possible to obtain this class of membership (unless a similar scheme is initiated at some time in the future).
Loans
In addition to Life Memberships, and donations to the club, we are also putting together a mechanism whereby people can make financial loans to the club.
As with Life Membership, at this stage we are seeking pledges only, with such schemes coming into force should any bid we are involved with be accepted. In the case of loans, The Financial Services and Markets Act prevents us from communicating the specific terms of any of the members’ and supporters’ loan proposals that we are currently considering without first obtaining the relevant signed declarations and waivers. At this stage therefore, if you are interested in receiving more information about these proposals then please contact the Save Our Airfield Response team at SOAR@bicestergliding.com and we can pass on the details of the proposals being put in place.
