Summary of Committee Meeting on 26th August 2007

Here is a note of some of the main points considered by the Committee at the above meeting. A full set of minutes is always displayed outside the main briefing room.

 

Environmental Health(EH) – Kitchen and Bar.
There has been an enquiry from EH about the kitchen and the bar. Our arrangements for the kitchen appear to be satisfactory but there may be further enquiries about the bar.

Manning the Bar.
Kevin is now available again and this was welcomed. If Kevin is agreeable, OUGC members may assist him in the day to day running of the bar.

Catering.
The Committee is very grateful for the efforts of Marie Mitchell and her team who continue to provide club catering. It was agreed not to advertise for a replacement soup dragon but instead e-mail all members asking for assistance with club catering .

Caravan Site Untidiness.
Something has to be done to improve caravan site untidiness, in particular, members apparent unwillingness to cut the grass around their vans. The caravan fee will be increased by £25 wef 1 Sept. 07 and the annual fee will increase to £75 wef 1 Jul. 08, so that the site can be maintained in accordance with the lease.

Forum Discussion.
· The directors are meeting on 29 Aug.07 to discuss how best to acquire the site for gliding
· At this stage, 7 day winch operation cannot be provided .

Operations in 2008.
Competitions : Club has accepted an invitation from the BGA to run the 18m Nationals, 10-24 Aug. with a max of 50 pilots. Members will be asked at the coming AGM if they would also like to have the Regionals here 19-27 Jul.
Club Task Weeks : Greater efforts are to be made to attract clubs to hold their task weeks at Bicester.
Staffing : Committee is looking now for a Full Cat. with tug qualification and an Assistant Cat. with winch driving experience .

Evening Corporate Flying.
To take place May-Aug. only.

Continued Use of the Capstan.
It was decided that the club could manage without the Capstan.

Moving the Battery Charging Room.
The present Battery Charging Room will be moved to the Outside Charging Room at the SW corner of the hangar once the lock and hasp there are repaired.
