Summary of Committee Meeting on 7th October 2007

Here is a note of some of the main points considered by the Committee at the above meeting. A full set of minutes is always displayed outside the main briefing room.

Environmental Health – Kitchen and Bar.
There have been no further enquiries from Environmental Health.

Caravan Site Untidiness.
The Committee discussed the matter further. With effect 1 July 08, a £25 fee will be levied on each caravan member unless the member opts out in writing to the Office. Opt-outs will be monitored.

Site Acquisition Planning.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors will give a short presentation on this subject at the coming AGM.

Corporate Evenings - Summer 2008.
The success of such evenings depends on the availability of instructors. Instructors will be contacted to assess what can be done next year.

Winter Mid-Week Flying/Zero Glider Fees for Launches Before 1100.
A proposal had been received to make winch launches available two days mid-week, normally Wednesday and Friday. Volunteer qualified winch drivers would be sought and paid £20/£40 per half/full day by crediting their flying accounts. Mike Pettican had volunteered to run this service as an extension of his summer employment. Details will be discussed with him to see what can be arranged.
Glider fees will be waived for all winch launches before 1100 .

Junior and CUGC Members Flying Fees.
The current price list no longer gives prices for Junior members. It was agreed to amend it with effect from 1 Nov. 07, “student membership” to read “junior membership”..

Damage in Hangar to Tiger Moth G-ATHAN.
Max Kirschner had investigated the damage which was less serious than first thought. He concluded that marking now on the hangar floor of the full travel of all doors would be likely to avoid any repetition of such an incident.

WGC Business Plan.
The Board of Directors had produced a WGC Business Plan, “WGC – The Next Five Years”.

Xmas Festivities.
Julie Pead has agreed to organise the WGC Xmas Dinner.
The Office will sell tickets for the coming Xmas Party .
