Summary of Committee Meeting on 4th March 2007

Here is a note of some of the main points considered by the Committee at the above meeting. A full set of minutes is always displayed outside the main briefing room.

 

Caravans.
The Office was collecting caravan rentals that had not been charged since July 2005. Touring van owners would be asked to provide a £50 deposit returnable when the van is removed from site. Applications for space for residential caravans would be considered by the Committee.

Long Term Planning for the Club.
The Secretary is to write to the Directors requesting that plans for the long term future of the club be formulated and a copy be passed to the Chairman of the Management Committee.

Membership Structure.
The Chairman asked OUGC to consider changes in the arrangements for the use of GAM. He also said that the arrangements made for Cranfield students were unclear and the Secretary was asked to obtain a copy of the agreement with WGC.
There appeared to be support in the club for two tier membership, arrive/aerotow only and normal members. Member’s opinions would be sought immediately after the AGM.
To overcome Office bookkeeping difficulties, a special membership form may be introduced for visitors/temporary visitors.

Membership Secretary.
Carol Smith, a new member from Booker, is to be Membership Secretary.

WGC Soaring Weeks.
To be held on 4-8 June and 3-6 July 2007.

Members Forum.
A member’s forum to enable members to air their views is to be established. Details in the next Newsletter.

Weather Station.
To be re-located in the old control tower. The CD containing the station operating system has been mislaid and is required urgently.

AGM Date.
To be held on 14 April 2007 in the club bar.

Hangar Spring Clean.
To be organised over the weekend 30 March - 1 April 07. All trailers to be removed beforehand.
