Summary of Committee Meeting on 3rd June 2007

Here is a note of some of the main points considered by the Committee at the above meeting. A full set of minutes is always displayed outside the main briefing room.

Member's Forum.
Is now up and running.

Planning Application/Caravans.
Defence Estates has questioned the need for a planning application as there has been no change of use since 1960.
We are planning on a max number of 75 caravans on site, 72 touring plus 3 static. Up to 3 caravan slots will be allocated to OUGC members.

Glider Radios.
Two radios have been bought for the K13s and will be fitted shortly.

Logo for Gliders.
To be slightly larger than the example on GAM and in ultramarine or royal blue. As it is for all gliders based at Bicester and is not a club logo, OUGC has been approached about putting the logo on OUGC gliders.

Trailers.
Proposed penalties for the improper parking of trailers have been withdrawn. Members who wish to park their trailers where they can rig their gliders should speak to the Office. There is a further trailer parking area parallel to the bomb dump fence and between the fence and the windsock. Slots will not be allocated and the normal trailer facility charge will apply.

Finance.
A new price list is to be introduced wef 1 Jun 07. Copies will be posted in the bus and on the Office noticeboard.

Purchase of a Two Gang Mower.
The purchase of a two gang mower which would reduce the time taken to cut the airfield grass is being investigated but such a purchase does not have a high priority. Present grass cutting arrangements are working well and we have a short lease.

Obituary for Al Far.
Editor of S&G has requested an obituary for Al Far and this will be published in S&G.
