The Bicester Regionals 2008

Saturday-1 News

11:30am We have two tasks set at present and expect first launch to be at 12:30. It's not raining.

Open = BNW - CHL - HOB - CAL - B14 = 153.0Km

Sport = CAL - CHN - EDG - CAL - B14 = 94.6Km

12:30pm First launch now postponed until 1:00pm at the earliest

...make that 1:30 at the earliest. The sniffer in his jet-powered Ventus is reporting 2 kt climbs however. And the only showers he can see are those near us...

13:28 It's raining but apparently it's clear behind that, as the sniffer is still up there. So first launch is now pushed back to 2:00pm

15:12 - first launch in five minutes!

And they're off... or at least the Open class are, the little boys (and girls, mustn't forget them) have scrubbed.

Almost everyone is starting immediately, with 30 gone in the first 15 minutes.

16:50ish Apparently there is one land-out so far, but they are a bit shy about saying the tail number.

17:00 - KBS needs a retrieve crew...
as does 486...
and a few others too.

Several have landed back after encountering a bad area due to some wave interference.
18:29 - and 11 gliders are currently unaccounted for.

19:16 And we have a finisher! X4 is the first one back (and there might one or two more as well).
And then JF and J15 both called five minutes as I wrote the above.

Provisional, incomplete results are available now - use the menu.
