Summary of Committee Meeting on 1st September 2006
Here is a note of some of the main points considered by the Committee at
its recent meeting. As always a full set of the minutes is posted outside
the main briefing room.
Financial – July and August were good months and the competitions have made a major contribution to healthy bank balances.
Canary Wharf Expo – a team will take part in a major BGA promotion of gliding and WGC at Canary Wharf
Parachutes – the committee decided that two new parachutes should be bought for the Club to replace worn out chutes past their useful life.
Winch cable – two rolls of cable will be imported and installed soon
Maintenance – at times the areas around the hanger look very untidy. The members would be asked to keep their eyes open and seize the opportunity to tidy up anything detracting from the usual well ordered appearance of Windrushers. Arrangements would be made for regular maintenance to be carried out.
Site Works – a team from the Army will visit us between 2-5 October to carry out various works to improve our facilities in exchange for some gliding.
Hangar Security – we have been reminded by our landlord of the need to improve security and in particular to make sure the buildings are locked and secured at the end of each day.
Bonfire Party – a party will take place on Saturday 4 November 2006. Geraldine will cater. A good firework display will be organised.
Christmas Party – a Christmas dinner will be organised for a date, time and venue to be announced shortly.
